My Daughter's First Season - Which Level?? What do I Need? PLEASE READ

How do you figure out which level to sign your daughter up for this season?

Here are the age brackets:

Tee Ball: Ages 4-6
Single A: Ages 5*-8  *5-year-olds need at least one year of tee ball to play in Single A
Double A: Ages 8-10
Triple A: 9-11
Majors: 10-12
Juniors: 12-14
If this is your daughter's first season, sign her up for the lowest level in her age bracket. If she played last year, feel free to reach out to her coach last year and ask if she should play in the same level, or move up.
Remember, all players age 9 and older will go through softball evaluations. We may need to change the level you signed up for at that time, depending on the skills at which she evaluatates.
What do I need to buy prior to practices?

Your player will need (1) cleats, as they play on dirt and in grass and it gets pretty slippery; (2) a glove - you can check out Frye's right here in Forest Grove for all of your equipment needs; (3) a bat, but this is optional, as the league does provide bats for each team. If your daughter wants to be a catcher, we do provide catcher's gear to each team, but this is another to look into purchasing if it is something she is serious about. Uniform purchasing will be announced soon.

When will practices/games start?

While everything outdoors in Oregon depends on the weather, practices usually start in mid-March and games usually start in mid-April. We try to finish the season by the time school ends, but in the younger levels, is usually the end of May. We can't predetermine the days your practices and games will be on as there are a lot of factors that still need to be figured out - coach availability, field availability, and other league schedules. But as soon as this information is figured out, we will get this information to you ASAP.
